Description
ITEM DESCRIPTIONUp for auction is an Antique 800 Silver Art Nouveau Repousse Design Open Salt Cellar
Dip.
This lovely and "petite" open salt is made of 800 silver and is oval in shape.
Being Italy, France and Germany all used "800" as their silver standard, and the only mark on this salt is "800",
it is hard to tell which country produced this little beauty.
The salt is ornately designed in a repousse Art Nouveau style with handles displaying women's heads.
The cobalt blue liner has a cut and polished rim and fits securely in the silver holder.
It measures just 1-1/4" high, 1-1/4" wide and 3-3/8" in length which includes the handles.
It is in excellent condition with very little wear to the silver, and the glass liner with no chips or cracks and only a couple tiny rim flakes.
A charming little piece!!
