Description
B: Single Antique PEDESTAL Salt Dip or Nut Dish CANOE Shaped DIAMOND POINT CutBeautiful pedestal open salt or nut dish made of warm amber or topaz colored glass, and somewhat "canoe" shaped. I have 4 of these, and I'm selling them individually. This is the second one I am selling, so "B".
This salt or nut dish measures 3.75" x 2.5" wide at the rim, and is 3.25" tall. This salt appears to be mould-blown, with handcut details. Gorgeous diamond point cutting with notched rim, and the foot is bevel cut, with a star cut into the bottom.
Purchased at an estate sale many years ago, and I don't have the provenance. Similar (very high priced!) ones found online claim to be Anglo-Irish, which seems right based on the design and the finishing. VERY nice!
There is a small flat chip on the beveled edge of the base, on the bottom - salt still sits straight upright, with no wobble. Not noticeable unless turned upside down. Please review all of my photos for detailed closeups.
