ITEM DESCRIPTION
Up for auction is a Boyd Art Glass “Lemonade” 1st in the Series of the Mount Vernon Open Salt Cellar,
Dip.
Since Boyd Crystal Art Glass closed in 2014, like their chick-on-nest salts, these Mount Vernon open salts are becoming more and more difficult to find.
These salts had a shorter run date than the chicks and were produced in far fewer colors.
Boyd acquired the original Cambridge Glass Co. Mt. Vernon salt mold from Imperial Glass and started production it in 1985.
The salt is round in shape, has a wide, flat, cut and polished rim, and the exterior of the bowl is covered with six rows of raised alternating diamonds.
The bottoms of the salts are marked with their signature “B” in a diamond.
Every five years of production a line was added to the trademark, culminating with a “B” and an “O” being added to the top corners for the last ten years the company was in business.
This one is their
“Lemonade”
glass color and was the very first salt color produced in this series on 5,-22-1985, and has a Boyd assigned “Mount Vernon Salt” inventory number of “1”.
It is marked with their “1st Five Years” trademark of a “B” in a diamond.
It measures just 1” high by 2-1/8” in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or fleabites.

If I do not receive payment, or do not hear from you, I do reserve the right to relist the item at the end of 3 days.  Buy-it-Now items require immediate payment.
