Brush McCoy Pottery 1914 Lions Roman Decoration Jardiniere Flower PotPlease carefully view the photos as they are an essential element of the description.
We recently acquired an estate and several pieces of B&W and other stoneware were left.
This is a forthright sturdily built heavy jardiniere and when double boxed will require a somewhat oversized shipping box to help ensure safe delivery through the heavy-handed U.S. Snail Mail Apes. Shipping is .95 (I will promptly refund anything in excess of ). I ship to the 48 contiguous USA states only. I’m very sorry but no exceptions.
Winning Bidder ~ I accept PayPal and prompt payment to me results in equally prompt shipment to you. I will contact you soon after close of auction. To avoid confusion please wait to pay until I send you an invoice. I do, however, use eBay’s Global Shipping scheme, where eBay allows, so that option is open and available to buyers outside the 48 contiguous United States. I mostly ship the next business day or two following payment.
This lion decorated jardiniere is one of a series of sizes that were decorated with various Roman Theme designs. It is illustrated in Sanford Book 1, page 23. It’s 7-1/2” tall, the opening is about 7", and is about 8" across the widest part, the bulge.
There is one weensy top rim, on the inside edge, glaze nick or, conversely, a really small and truly insignificant flake. (Very, very difficult to accurately illustrate). That’s it! No other post production issues I can find. It has been lightly used and I see no evidence of a plant being potted within it. All in all, it truly is in absolutely outstanding condition for a flower pot more than 100 years old.
Overall a truly excellent example of an item designed by an outstandingly gifted and talented potter. This jardiniere was intended to be used in the home on a daily basis. For being more than 100 years old it has withstood the test of time very well, and would be a stellar addition to any collection of early Brush McCoy and/or jardinieres.
Please ask any questions before you bid as this auction is final unless grossly misrepresented.
Thanks for looking and have fun bidding.
