    ITEM DESCRIPTION
    Up for auction is a
    Circa 1897, Jackson & Fullerton Sterling Silver Open Salt
    Cellar Dip & Spoon.
    This antique sterling silver open salt and spoon set was made by George Jackson and David Fullerton, of London, circa 1897.
    The round salt is made up of ten panels, a scalloped rim and embossed with a floral and cross design.
    The bottom of the salt is fully hallmarked with the George Jackson & David Fullerton maker's mark, a lion signifying that the salt is made of .925 sterling silver, the London city mark of an uncrowned leopard head and a date mark of "b" signifying the salt was produced in 1897.
    The matching sterling silver spoon has the same floral design as the salt and is marked sterling on the back of the handle.
    The salt measures 1-1/4" high by 2" in diameter, the spoon 2-3/8" in length and both are in excellent condition with no indentations or salt corrosion marks to the lovely sterling silver.
