    Description

    This is a lovely glass open salt or salt cellar in a striking pattern.  It is shown as Open Salt #2795 in "5,000 Open Salts  A Collector's Guide" by Heacock and Johnson.  They indicate it is in the BAG WARE Pattern by Duncan, aka HEAVY PANELLED FINECUT, Circa 1890.
    This piece measures about 2-1/4 inches long and stands about 1-1/4 inch tall.  It has one flake on the upper corner with several small fleabites on the rim, and one larger flake on the bottom outside edge, but, despite these flaws, it is still a rather striking piece.  Please see photographs for details.
