Lovely Vintage Set of 4 Sun Purple 6 Sided Salt Cellar Dips~Starburst Pattern

Up for your consideration is a vintage
estate find....a set of 4 Sun Purple glass Salt Cellars. They each measure 1 1/8" high and 2" in diameter. They are a hexagon shape with a scallop at each side. The bottom has a starburst design.Good Preowned Condition! No cracks, chips, or repairs, but please note there are a few tiny flea bite nicks and manufacturer rough edges (could be filed down) where the glass was trimmed...seen only with a magnifier. Note: I purchased this item from a family member of the original owner, and it has been in storage since 1965. I am note sure if this is the case with this item, but often times Lavender glass is a result of vintage glass that
contained manganese dioxide and it has a tendency to
turn
different shades of
purple
when exposed to the rays of the
sun
or to other ultra-
violet
sources. ... This
changes
the manganese compound into a form that
causes
the
glass
to
turn purple
.
