All steel construction Lyman 48-FN.  It was produced during the third variation of the Lyman 48 sights from 1947-1974.  It features Lyman's Stayset knobs.  Sight is in nice, clean, working condition.  This sight underwent a complete teardown during which all parts were inspected, cleaned as necessary, and lubricated.  It is fully operational and has nice strong clicks to both windage and elevation adjustment knobs.  The 1/2” 'hunter' disc is original Lyman and has a .093” aperture.  Includes replacement new production #6-48 mounting screws.  The mounting screws may require trimming for overall length.  Please note that the serial numbers between the base and the slide do not match.  Base serial number 'V 57' and slide serial number 'N 19'.  Although not matching numbers, they were both produced during the same period and have been fitted to one another.  Had it not been for some wear to the elevation slot, I would have guessed that it was never used.  A great example for use as is, or worth it's weight in gold for hard-to-find model 48 replacement parts.  American made in Middlefield, Connecticut.
