    Description

    This is a rather large pressed glass master open salt or salt cellar.  It is shown as Open Salt #3830 in "5,000 Open Salts  A Collector's Guide" by Heacock and Johnson.
    This piece measures just over 3-1/4 inches in length and stands about 1-1/8 inch tall. It has a waffle bottom and is very lightly sun turned.  It has some roughness on the inner rim and two chips on the outer rim.  There is also a trace of what looks like gold paint at one place on the exterior.  It is quite thick glass and quite heavy.  Please see photographs for details.
