    ITEM DESCRIPTION
    Up for auction is a Signed LCT Louis Comfort Tiffany Art Glass Cauldron Design
    Open Salt Cellar Dip.
    This gorgeous little cauldron shaped (aka witch’s pot) Favrile art glass open salt was made by Louis Comfort Tiffany.
    The bottom of the salt is signed with the Tiffany signature mark of
    “L.C.T.” and T9959.
    The salt has brilliant iridescent color and sheen in lovely hues of gold, blue, purple and pink.
    It sits on four little peg-leg feet and the bottom has a rough pontil mark.
    This salt can be seen in The Open Salt Compendium (Plate 38) by Sandra Jzyk & Nina Robertson and in 5,000 Open Salts (#1) by Heacock & Johnson where it is noted to be scarce.
    It measures 1-3/8” high, 2-1/8” in diameter at the widest rim point and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or fleabites.
